Description: This listing is for Psychoanalysis #1 (EC, 1955). Jack Kamen cover and art. Psychoanalysis was a comic book from 1955, the fifth title in EC's New Direction line. This comic was published by Bill Gaines (William Gaines) through his company, EC Comics (E.C. Comics), which he inherited from his father in 1947. The bi-monthly comic was published by William Gaines and edited by Al Feldstein. Psychoanalysis was approved by the Comics Code Authority, but newsstands were reluctant to display it, and the subject matter was certainly very odd for teenagers to be interested in, and it only lasted a total of four issues before being canceled along with EC's other New Direction comics. This was one of many EC comic titles published by Bill Gaines (later publisher of Mad Magazine). Since the ending of publication, all of the EC comics have been reprinted many, many times, in many formats, and there have been several movies and TV series based on them! I am not an expert grader, but would estimate this book to be in GD condition. It has shelf wear/creasing/tearing on its covers and spine. It has tearing/separation at its spine ends and the cover is detached. The pictures will give you a good sense of its condition. Please let me know if you have any questions.
