Important Information about Primavera P6 softwareThe Primavera P6 range of software is not the typical retail "out-of-the-box" software. P6 PPM consists of inter-dependent computer programs that work together; Microsoft SQL (or Oracle XE) database, .NET Framework, Java and the Primavera P6 software itself. When you are working on your projects in P6, the data is saved in the database, and not in the P6 PPM software. Since P6 is designed to work in a database driven manner, it means that the installation and the set-up of P6 can get a little complex; no wonder Oracle will not sell you the software without their Mandatory Technical Support (at extra cost), on top of providing you with over 12 Installation / Technical manuals and various documentation. In some situations, when clients have more than one version of a baseline schedule or update on their server and they no longer remember why, Claim Digger will tell us what the differences are.
