When making our silicone molds from our housings we use Mold Star™ platinum silicone. It is heat resistant up to 450°F and according to their website, can be used to cast wax, resins, and other materials. It is also very important to use a mold-release spray to coat the housing before pouring the silicone. If you do not evenly coat the housing with mold release spray before pouring the silicone, you will be fighting to get your mold out and may end up damaging the housing.
