Description: Binchotan (Japanese Oak) activated charcoal is the highest grade of charcoal. These charcoals are from the Tosa region of Japan. Excellent natural properties that help reduce odor and hardness from water, and filter for better tasting drinking water. Filtering time is approximately 3-4 hours. Use 1 stick for a personal water bottle and use 2 sticks for a carafe. 1 stick can filter up to 1 L (33.8 oz) of water. Each stick is approximately 0.8 inches in diameter and 4 inches in length. Reactivate charcoal every 2 weeks by boiling it for 10 minutes and letting it dry. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality.
