Swimmers in the lake are pictured and the amusement park in the background. Pontchartrain Beach Amusement park opened in 1928 on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain. It featured a beach with an art deco style bathhouse, swimming pools, amusement rides, including a roller coaster called the Zephyr. The park closed in 1983.
