Description: Hello! This Polytone Mini Brute II is a rare gem of an amplifier in very good condition. This iconic model was used both in the studio and on stage by the likes of George Benson, Joe Pass, Herb Ellis, Carol Kaye, and Jim Hall - just to name a very few of the legendary artists who plugged into Polytones. Power rating: 120W@4 Ohms This solid state model features a 12" speaker, reverb, 3 switchable tone voicings (Brite, Dark, and Normal), Hi and Low inputs, and bass & treble EQ. The volume pot is stacked, with the main knob controlling volume (clean tones) and the small knob (red) adding optional distortion. On the back it features an output for an extension cab, as well as a line out, and a footswitch input (does not come with footswitch). Here is some history on Polytone: In 1968, after a very successful career as a jazz performer and recording artist, Tommy Gumina started the Polytone Amplifier Company. Tommy had been designing and building his own amps since the '50s and since then has been helping players get that quintessential jazz tone in live performances and on recordings. Polytone Artists include Ron Affif, Howard Alden, Ron Anthony, George Benson, Dan Brennan, Norman Brown, Jimmy Bruno, Herb Ellis, Jim Fox, Jim Hall, Vail Johnson, Carol Kaye, Peter Leitch, Mundell Lowe, Dave Stone, Phil Upchurch, Buster Williams, Barry Zweig and many more. While the Mini Brute II is regarded as one of the finest jazz amps ever created, it can get some pretty wicked fuzz tones, as well. It’s packed with mojo! Please note: When adding distortion via the aforementioned small red knob, the amp seems to introduce a cool, funky, octave / harmonic type effect ... complete with what sounds like a bit mangling type effect that you would expect when you play full chords through an octaver effect. Just a bit of full disclosure, if you're not into that eccentric soundscape thing, we have PLENTY of more straightforward overdrives and distortions here in our ebay store! :) Dimensions: Height: 15.5″ Width: 14″ Depth: 10” Weight: 24 pounds Made in the USA, Polytone amps were designed and manufactured like no others. This Mini Brute II is the quintessential example of why George Benson has played Polytones exclusively since 1968. So grab this one now before someone else does! Please read the condition description, these listing details and examine the pictures carefully. Thanks so much for your interest and I hope you buy it now!!!!!
