Description: British 82nd Regiment of Foot Button Description: Nice example of a British 82nd "Prince of Wales’s Volunteers” Regiment of Foot button. This is a pewter enlisted man’s example. The face features three ostrich feathers with a crown and ribbon marked "ICH DIEN” with an 82 below. This low-convex button appears to be a water recovery. The face is legible and there is a single small push at the top. This example has the Hebbert backmark which would date it to 1852+. Charles Hebbert went on to produce artillery, infantry, and navy buttons for the Confederacy during the American Civil War. A nice example with the iron wire shank still attached and pushed to the side. Backmark: "HEBBERT & CO / (dot) LONDON (dot” rm Measures: 18.8 mm Reference: Parkyn Pgs. 201-204 Recovered: Unknown USPS Shipping is $5.00
