The battle was one of the most dramatic during the Soviet crossing of the Dnepr River, in September 1943. The game consists of a set of rules, a set of counters, and a mapboard. One die is also used to resolve battles with the use of a Combat Results Talbe. In the game, players take alternate turns durning which they may move and fight with their units. Units depict the Soviet and German forces involved in the fighting. Each turn in Kanev represents eight hours of real time. Air Drops, Armor, Leaders, Partisians, and lots more.
