Description: Very cool pair of vintage South Coast #5 winches with original winch handles and original teak mounts, from 1960s era Pearson Alberg 35 sloop, “Moonlighter” (Annapolis, MD; Stamford, CT; Larchmont, NY). The Alberg 35 Moonlighter notably placed 2nd in its class in its first ever competition: a very windy Stamford Denmark Friendship Races, circa 1972. These great working winches are 5” tall and 5” wide at the top, with 6” wide bases. They are chrome over heavy bronze / brass (non ferrous alloy), and are nicely worn from decades of east coast cruising use before being removed and stored ashore in a private home.
