She is a first generation college student, who went to The University of Akron to become an Akron Zip, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science with a concentration in Sports Management.. She graduated Cum Laude. She received a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration. Dr. Jones has her Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Higher Education Administration with a minor in Human Resource Management from The University of Toledo. Her published dissertation is entitled College Self-Efficacy and Campus Climate Perceptions as Predictors of Academic Achievement in African American Males at Community Colleges in the State of Ohio. Dr. Jones is the first in her family to receive a Ph.D. She is a professional with a motivating message of self-discovery and self-empowerment to all she encounters. She is a woman who is determined to succeed in life and believes inthe scripture "to whom much is given, much is required! Dr. Jones has presented workshops at national, local, state and regional conferences on topics that include leadership development, trends in higher education, diversity issues in higher education, self-efficacy and campus climate of African American males and has co-published other works. Dr. Jones is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.
