Description: 8-3/4" HThis heavy weight glassThis oil lamp comes with an older electric conversion kit that has been tested and it does work fine. The base is marked PATD AUG 29TH 1876This lamp was originally made as a 2-piece mold, with the shoulder being pre-molded and fused unto the lower half during production. This particular lamp has an apparent separation at that seam, as well as at least 2 cracks in that area that we can see (Appears to have possibly been dropped or struck in one particular area, causing the seam to begin a separation). The lamp is intact as a single piece, but it is possible that it would leak fluid if attempting to use it with an oil burner. We acquired this lamp with the damage already there so we cannot be sure how the damage occurred. There is small chipping along the interior lip of the foot as well. Reacts beautifully in 365nm True UV blacklight, showing the presence of manganese (Will not react with novelty blacklight, as it is not uranium glass. Must be a true 365nm)Thuro Vol. 1, page 133This is an estate item and is therefore sold as is. Please view all photos before purchasing. We photograph items as-is and do not touch up/edit.
