This watch was designed by Paolo Gucci, who was a member of the famous Gucci family, was V.P. and served as chief fashion designer for the Gucci brand for over 20 years. He is credited with designing Gucci's famous double G logo. This collection is entirely his effort, after he left the company to branch out on his own. The exact business structure is not entirely clear but it appears that the two companies merged in the 1990s. Paolo Gucci actually designed these watches. Most design houses use themes and the head designer will merely approve the concepts. That was not the case here. Paolo Gucci believed that his watch designs were nicer than the ones from his old company and this is a matter of taste but some of the Paolo Gucci watch designs look even cooler today than they did in the 1990s. The boxes are a bit shabby because they were not intended to last this long but we change every battery and the watchmaker does a close inspection and testing of the functions, including bench testing the accuracy before the item ships. On rare occasion, we may discover a cosmetic or mechanical problem during the quality-control process. If we do not have another of the same item in stock, we will report the issue to you at once and depending on circumstances, we may offer you one or more choices. If none of the choices are satisfactory to you, we will refund your payment in full at once. We may even offer to change the movement for a new one. This process can take some time to order and receive the part and we will provide you with the estimated time required as part of any such offer. Please bear with us because these watches are around 25 or more years old and sometimes need a bit of work before they can pass our stringent final Q/C. Thanks. We install a new battery in every quartz watch and do a full quality control before it ships. While it is very rare, if the watch fails final Q/C for any reason and we do not have a second one in stock, we may offer the buyer a substitute (with their permission only) and if all else fails, we will promptly refund the full price at once.
