Description: A PAIR OF US ARMY CAVALRY MODEL 1911 SPURS WITH REMNANTS OF THE TOP AND BOTTOM LEATHER STRAPS.THIS MATCHING PAIR WAS MADE BY AUGUST BUERMANN AND ARE MARKED "AB". THEY SHOW FIELD USE AND ARE DIRTY. THEY COULD BE POLISHED. THE REMNANTS OF THE LEATHER STRAPS ARE VERY DRY AND BROKEN WITH PIECES MISSING. INTERESTINGLY, THIS TROOPER MUST HAVE HAD LARGE FEET AND BOOTS AS IT SEEMS THAT AN EXTENSION WAS RIVETED ON THE STRAP. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS.THE MODEL 1911 SPURS WERE ADOPTED IN 1911 AND WERE THE LAST SPURS USED BY THE US CAVALRY. THEY WERE REGULATION UNTIL THE DISMOUNT OF THE HORSE CAVALRY IN 1942-4 A VERY COOL REMNANT OF THE OLD US CAVALRY THAT WILL MAKE AN INTERESTING DISPLAY. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO VIEW MY OTHER ITEMS.
