Description: For sale is a pair of framed Nicolas Lancret lithographs. One print is of a man serenading two young ladies while playing an instrument. The second is of a bird escaping from its cage amid the surprised expressions of onlookers. Lancret was a French painter in the early 18th century whose works were displayed in the Palace of Versailles and were a favorite of Frederick the Great. The items are in excellent used condition but there are a couple of blemishes on the inside part of the frame and a bit of rubbing off of the gilding on the rims (see images).
