Description: This listing is for a mirror pair of old caps used in Java in the production of artisan Batiks. The cap is dipped in wax and stamped on cloth, aligning the edges to create amazing designs on the fabric. The caps are handmade of fine copper strips, carefully cut, shaped and soldered into a fabulous pattern with the original handle on the back. A great gift, both for the collector or the batik or stamping artist in your family. They are also fantastic to collect as they are works of art and are so wonderful just to look at. The stamps measure approximately 8” in length and 7” in width. Condition: The tjaps have been used for intended purposes.. i.e. fabric printing. There will be some expected signs of previous use however in excellent and robust condition ready for many more years of use or as a beautiful display item.
