After the technical school, he was a 16-year-old to the coast and wanted to sail. Several years of the puppet theatre Jozef van den Berg. He then attended the Minerva Academy in Groningen, where he graduated in 1979. He established his studio in Grijpskerk in the Groningen countryside. His work includes oil paintings, gombatiks, linocuts, pastel and grue-kart drawings, photography and three-dimensional work. The clear characteristic of the work is that the design arises from ‘emotional impulses’, the human figures are not intended as a portrait, but as a symbol of the emotional value. Associations at his work: Monumental, simplicity, peace, unity, naughty, erotic, contemplative, multicultural, individuality of style, deep/heavious/opposing emotions depicted in an apparently quiet and unsuspecting atmosphere. Egbertsprijs for his retrospective exhibition at the Kunstl loving society Pictura, in Groningen. In 2001 Boudewijn won the 1st prize, charting prize, in honor of the 15th anniversary of gallery Ann's Art at ABK Minerva in Groningen.
