Description: This is a costume design project from the collection of the late French actor Paul Meurisse. Original Mixed media Costume design for the opera play Norma - Priestesses. Montserrat Caballe played Norma in 1974, Maria Callas in 1954, and Renata Scotto in 1974. If it's the one with Montserrat Caballe, the costume designer was Gioia Fiorella Mariani, niece of Roberto Rossellini. The photos I found make me think it is the one, but I see more pleats in the Maria Callas costume version. The original piece was created using Gouache and pencil on paper. The dimensions of the design are 13" x 9.25".
