Description: The Lucky Strike brand got its start in 1871, when it was a chewing tobacco named during the gold rush. A panner who struck gold would call it a "lucky strike". Presumably the tobacco purveyors thought the tie in was timely and made buyers feel like they were lucky to be buying such great chaw. The company began producing cigarettes in the early 1900s. This great 1940 ad would be two years before Luckies started being sold in white packs instead of green. Honorable mention to the model, largely dressed to match the pack, hat and all :) We rescued the ad from a 1940 news and culture magazine and trimmed away a bit of wrinkling at the edges - all set for you to mount, frame, use in your crafting or throw in an acrylic frame or magnet back and decorate your fridge, home bar or out on the porch with your smokes ;) 10.25" X 13" We ship between cardboard and in poly mailers.
