Orchid flask tool for seed sowing and replate

Description: These are stainless steel tools, intended for use in moving seeds, protocorms, and plantlets in axenic culture. I have these welded out of stainless steel by a top local welder who has been in the biz for decades, and have used one of these tools for years without the welds failing: the tools are heated to ~235 degrees C, then plunged into 70% ethanol and allowed to cool in HEPA-filtered air before being used to transfer seeds, protocorms, etc. We developed these because long tools suitable for use in pint and quart jars weren't available. These are ideal for the application, and- again- we've used these for 10-15 years minimum without failure. Please note that this is an old lot- they're new, but I've been lazy and haven't listed them. Because of inflation, the next batch will probably cost substantially more. I have to take time off, go see my welding buddy, sit down and shoot the breeze for an hour or so, talk orchids, and then go home wondering about my life choices. Should I have been a welder? I don't know; Casey Allan, a genius at things mechanical, told me not to many years ago, due to the potential for lung damage. Casey smoked unfiltered Pall Mall cigarettes, so I'm not really sure what to make of that advice. I suppose the answer is "better ventilation," as Casey harked back to the bad old days before OSHA really got their teeth into things and (presumably) mandated good vent for this kind of thing. Anyway, I stuck with orchids and chemistry instead of welding. Maybe I should pick it up, but I'll never be as good as the guy who makes these tools. They come in 10" length, and 12" length; they are intended as tools and do not have a consistent high gloss of chromium plate, but they weren't built to win any cosmetic awards. The 12" are good enough for work in quart jars, 10" is fine for pints.
