Reading it brought me back to my youth in the 70’s when discovering new bands, as I did with Angel, was a o exciting. Before the advent of internet, endless streaming and instant information, a fan needed to wait for the new issues of Hit Parader, Circus and Creem to catch up to their favorite bands. This is a must read for any and all Angel fans. Having read several other books by the author, Gordon G.G. Gebert, I was intrigued by what he had to say about his tenure in the band. I happened to have seen Angel on the tour when he left and always wondered why there was no keyboard player at my show. Now I have my answer and so much more. This book goes into great detail about the history of the band, from their early days in Washington, D.C. until today when the classic line-up reunited for a special award. It also goes into detail about the ups and downs of being in a band and the B.S. sometimes associated with it, and the extent to which someone will go to for the betterment of the band. It also gives one hope that you CAN one day play with people you idolized through the years. How he was a big fan who eventually replaced the original keyboard player. There is no nothing in this book but pure entertainment. It leaves you wanting more. And to top it off, almost every chapter is cleverly titled with an Angel song. Post breakup it's not as pretty sometimes, but that doesn't matter. It's life and it's rock and roll. All in all good to see Punky, Frank and the boys celebrated for giving us The Tower, The Fortune, Dont Leave Me Lonely, etc. Easy to read. If you grew up in the 70's or 80's you will love this book! If you didn't, then purchase it anyway! You will learn a lot about what it is like for struggling musicians. I myself am a musician and found it too be a very truthful story about what people go through that love music with all the fiber of their being. It has heartwarming moments, hilarious moments, adventurous moments and of course "Really"!! Take a trip with Gordon G.G. Gebert on a magical carpet ride through his teenage and young adult years! You will not be able to put this book down, I know I couldn't! I was lucky enough to experience the same time so for me it was like going back to the days when I was free and happy. Oh yes, and Gordon ended up playing keyboards for "Angel" (I loved these guys and still do).
