It was the first consumer Olympus OM Series body. The OM-10 was targeted for the "Middle Range" of the market and was extremely successful. While the OM-10 is a Aperture-Priority camera, it was designed so that it could have an optional "Manual Adapter" attached which allowed the manual setting of shutter speeds. This attachment allowed the camera to be used in Manual Mode. Due to it's smaller and lighter body construction, ease of use in Aperture and Manual operation, and excellent picture quality, this is an excellent everyday shooter and/or student camera (Needs Manual Adapter to make a good student camera). Condition of this camera: Optics: Excellent condition Viewfinder in very good to excellent condition, it is clear and bright with 1 or 2 very small dust specs (will have no effect on pictures).Lens is in excellent condition: glass is clear and bright with no fungus, scratches, or cleaning marks. It has little to no dust evident on back lighting the lens. Lens mounts easily. Lens depth of field preview working well.Aperture is snappy with positive engagement at all setting. No oil on blades. Mechanical: Excellent conditionShutter is snappy at all speeds and "B" and "Auto" modes. Shutter speeds were tested with the use of a Manual Adapter. Calibration appears accurate. Light meter is working and displaying accurately in viewfinder. Good calibrationOn/Off working as designed with all switch positions tested: Self Timer; Off; On; and Battery Check.Battery compartment in excellent condition with no corrosion. Camera requires 2 1.5v S76 or SR44 or equivalent button batteries. (Batteries not included). Battery check working.Film door seals and mirror bumper foam are in very good condition (replaced recently).Wind/Rewind; ASA and Mode dials, Frame Counter, Self Timer, and Hot Shoe are all working as designed and operating smoothly.Cosmetics: Good (above average) condition.Leatherette is excellent - intact with no lifting.Top plate is very good to excellent condition with 1 or 2 small rub marks.Bottom plate is in good (Average) condition with several light scratches and rub marks.Lens body is in excellent condition - no scratches or rub marks. The Vivitar lens on this camera is a high quality versatile lens made in Japan. This OM10 package is in very good overall condition and is fully functional.
