Croom Click images to enlarge Description OLD FRAMED OIL PAINTING Lovely old framed Dutch oil painting on board measuring about 14-1/4" wide, 11-3/4" tall and 2" deep - actual painting is about 8-1/3" wide by 7" deep. Featuring a gorgeous ornately carved, gilded and coved wood frame, painting depicts an iconic skating scene on a frozen canal or lake with windmill and stormy/cloudy sky. Signed J. CROOM, it was purchased in the Netherlands back in the 1950s. Condition is lovely - substantial frame has no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discoloration or damage - gold paint is very vibrant and beautifully reflects light onto the oil. Image is colorful and skillfully rendered by the artist. Other than a hint of spotting/rubbing to the gold paint, with a few fine construction flaws to the frame, I find no damage - painting is without scuffs, scratches, rubs, fading or similar issues.
