A similar image, but not exactly the same, appears on Woodside Auto Vino Dolcetto wine; Greco was the Artist-in-Residence for Auto Vino wine bottle labels. The canvas measures approximately 21 7/8 inches by 28 inches. Unpacked, this piece weighs 1 pound 14.0 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of California art. Identification This is an original oil on canvas painting by the well-known California artist and illustrator, Ed Greco (1944-). The age of this piece is not known. Greco is from Carmel-By-The-Sea, California. Per an online YouTube video, Greco spent most of his career as the owner of a marketing agency. An avid car collector, he was fascinated with cars and racing from an early age. Greco is a parishioner of the Carmel Mission. As an artist, he was influenced by the illustration style of Norman Rockwell. His various interests came together when he became the poster and event artist for the Carmel Mission Classic event, which combined faith and automobiles. This charitable event, which no longer occurs, took place during Car Week, preceding the famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance; it was known for its "blessing of the cars," as well as for the gourmet food and wine. Greco also is the Artist-in-Residence for Auto Vino wine bottle labels. His works have been sold at Gallerie Amsterdam in Carmel. Condition This unframed painting looks great overall, as shown, with light edge wear. There is a tiny brown dot, some type of soiling, in the sky area. The back side is as shown.
