Description: This is a pair of OEM GM cylinder heads for Small Block Chevy engines. The casting number on each head is 3731539. The 3731539 head was used by GM on high performance 283 engines in 1957 and 1958. These heads have casting dates of F 27 7 and F 28 7 which decode as June 27th and 28th 1957. This is a true factory matched pair of heads. These heads also have the "X" cast on the exhaust side of the heads as shown. These original 3731539 heads have become hard to find and are a must for your correct restoration. These heads recently came out of the collection of a lifetime Corvette collector and enthusiast. He collected many parts over the years in anticipation of future restorations. These heads have been in cool, dry storage for decades. These heads are bare cores as shown. They have been cleaned and checked for cracks with none found. One head does have a chipped lower head bolt boss as shown which is common on these heads. These heads are good cores for rebuilding.
