The wave is caught in the motion of breaking, its crest is frothy with white foam splashing into the air. Waves always give me a sense of continuity of cycle of life. Similarly to a wave, life is constantly in motion. It has its ups and downs and moments of intensity and calm. The colors used in this piece vary in tones of blues and greens, illustrating the depth and layers of the sea. Textured brush and a palette knife strokes imply the churn and turmoil of the foam. Looking at the round sea painting makes me think that I am peering through a porthole into the aquatic world. In my paintings I try to create a portal to a serene place.
