Description: Peikoff, Leonard. Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand. New York: Dutton, 1991. 8vo., publisher's quarter navy cloth with white paperboards. 493 pp. First edition, first printing, with a numberline ending in "1" on the copyright page where "first printing December, 1991" is also stated. Signed and inscribed by Peikoff on the title page. An Ayn Rand Institute post-it signed by then-ARI director Michael Berliner (signed as "MIke") is also affixed to the flyleaf. Handsome and scarce copy of the first attempt to synthesize Rand's whole philosophy into a single volume. Peikoff, an academic philosopher by training, was a close associate of Rand's (she made him the heir of her estate) and this volume has been roundly praised as the best systematic, nonfiction expression of Rand's ideas. It is uncommon signed. Fine in a near fine, slightly bumped dust jacket. Additional photos happily supplied upon request. All inquires will receive a prompt reply. All reasonable offers will make quick sales. See my other listings for a broad selection of quality books and other printed materials. Check my feedback. You will not be disappointed.
