Description: Item for auction is a 14.77g part slice of NWA 4576 mesosiderite that was found sometime before January, 2005. Not much information is available in the Meteoritical Bulletin or other sources. Regardless, this is a beautiful example of a meteorite type that is rare in private collections than the more recognized pallasites. It is believed that mesosiderites formed by the collision of two asteroids: one metal-rich and the other that was mostly silicates, for which this meteorite has a particularly nice mix of both. Specimen comes with a Big Kahuna Meteorites Certificate of Authenticity. Scale cube in photo is 1cm on each side, and not included in sale. Big Kahuna combines shipping, and addresses must be in the English language, to facilitate customs input at US Postal Service. Non-English addresses cannot be shipped, and may incur additional fees for handling. We no longer ship to China or Italy.
