Description: This listing is for a number drill index holder marked MORSE TWIST DRILL & MACH. CO. NEW BEDFORD MASS. U.S.A. This is also marked PAT. AUG. 7, 1906. This has been apparently modified, with the addition of a 1/4" steel triangular baseplate with a center hole allowing a spindle to be mounted to your workbench to swivel to the drill you need to select. This base plate may be a factory modification, but the steel plate appears crude for a precision tool company modification. The baseplate can be unscrewed and removed to allow it to be portable and the original pin that holds it in a triangular shape is included. The index does not fold flat for carrying like most of them do and I do not know why? It appears the one end that interferes could be ground down to allow it to fold flat, but I will leave that up to you to decide. Please read my description and look at the pictures carefully to make sure what you are bidding on, is what you expect to get.
