Tufa stone is compressed volcanic ash, a carving is made, and melted silver is poured between 2 pieces of the tufa stone, making a solid silver cast. The cast is tooled and shaped. The bracelet is 1-1/8 inches wide in the center, and 5/8 inch at the ends. It is 6-1/2 inches around on the inside, including the 1 inch gap. The very rare, gem grade stone is light blue, and spiderwebbed with a jet black matrix. The cabochon weighs8.20 carats. It is signed gh Sterling inside the band.
