In 2001, a friend owned a record store down the street from the store I used to manage. He was retiring and closing the record store (a lot of such stores closed a few years before). He offered the owner of my store all of the styluses he had for sale at a great price. My employer balked, as CD sales dominated the market. I did not think twice! I marched down to the ATM and got cash. I have sold a few pieces every now and then, but now, I am organizing my stuff and selling them on eBay at less than half the price that they were sold for. I sell another brand of this stylus, so I have reduced prices to get these sold. They are still new, sealed, they just aren't the brand I sell, so this deal is good only as long as my supply lasts. The original manufacturer seems to be unknown, the company made the cartridges for Matsushita and stopped making cartridges shortly after the advent of CD. In the middle of a model-run Technics turntables that came with a cartridge switched to a popular Audio-Technica. I am not certain, but I remember that Technics abruptly switched from SL-BD20A to SL-BD20D, and this change might be the reason. These styluses rival the performance of the originals styluses. They are a great way to get that vintage sound. The offer for (3) packs is mainly geared at people doing turntable restorations as a side hustle, or as a main gig. These folks know that these cartridges pop up all the time on used turntables. They are being sold for 3 for about the price a normal person could buy 2. If they have a new stylus at home, there is a better bottom line, and they won't have to wait through ordering a replacement. Notes on the variations (that you pick on the wheel when selecting an item to purchase...). (1) Single PM2855D, 0.7 mil Conical stylus, matched the bidy-type of a Pfanstiehl 718-D7 that is unopened/unplayed.(1) 3-Pack PM2855D, 0.7 mil Conical, just like above, except you get 3 instead of 1. They are unopened and unplayed. (1) Single PM2855DE 0.4 x 0.7 mil Elliptical stylus, is an upgrade to the previous conical styli. At some point EVG upgraded the PM2855DE to a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical, I'm not a hundred percent sure of when these were produced, so they could be 0.3 x 0.7s. There isn't enough ellipse to judge whether its 0.3 or 0.4, and I'd have to open someone's stylus before they buy it. (1) 3-Pack of the PM2855DE as described above. (Not yet listed) I found some clear-aqua styluses with no branding on them. They are in EVG cases. I need to research these, its possible they are original Technics/Panasonic, but I have no way to prove it. Maybe they are EVG generic replacements from before when these cartridges WERE available?
