Description: Offered here for the first time is a superb crash site artifact of a North American Aviation X-10 supersonic remotely piloted test aircraft. The X-10 program saw its first flight 14 October 1953 at Edwards Air Force Base in California's Mojave Desert. This particular aircraft was lost on 22 February 1955. In what had been a successful flight around the High Desert, a glitch occurred 15 miles from the landing site at Edwards. The Braking Parachute erroneously deployed and the ship was lost. It impacted the Desert floor near Hi Vista, a small burg which is sparsely populated. This specimen was collected in the 1980s by a noteworthy figure in aerospace history. Full provenance will be included to purchaser. The GREEN CUBE is ONE SQUARE CENTIMETER and shown for scale. It is included in the auction! Artifact Details: Weight: 18.65 grams Size: 56 X 30 X 13 mm The artifact will be securly shipped. I am paring down my personal collection and making this museum-quality piece available for the discriminating collector.
