The hand turned tabletop is Norfolk Island Pine and features a green Stone Malachite Inlay in the center. It is 15.5 inches in diameter and stands 18.5 inches tall. The hand turned base is also Norfolk Island Pine, and its footprint is only 8 inches, so it can sit almost anywhere. The base and top are connected with a hand turned Spalted Walnut Pedestal and the three are joined using tenons and wood glue, so there is no hardware or assembly required. I hand turned and fitted each piece of this build myself. It will arrive safely packaged and ready for display. Not only is the table refined and stylish, but it is also very sturdy and well balanced. This piece is entirely handmade and there will never be another one just like it. I finished this pedestal table with Hemp Oil and Howards Feed-N-Wax which is a combo of Carnauba wax, Beeswax, and Citrus oil. This creates a beautiful, hand rubbed finish that won't peel or chip. I recommend applying Howards Feed-N-Wax once or twice a year or your favorite polish. Howards is just a rub in, wait 20 minutes, then hand buff off wax that leaves a nice matte finish and adds protection from stains and water. Before it ships, I will have applied several coats of wax to add depth to the finish, but the piece will still feel like wood. The Hemp Oil will last for several years and can be reapplied without stripping the piece in the future. I believe this hand building, finishing, and care process creates a very unique item that looks like it was built a hundred years ago but will endure for generations.
