Regards, Laurent Ashton BIOGRAPHY OF NIU WEN: (TRANSLATED FROM CHINESE SOURCES) Niu Wen, was born in August 1922 in Shanxi Lingshi, and descended from the Shanxi Lingshi people. He was a famous print maker of excellent prints housed in Museums worldwide. He was a prominent member of the Chinese Communist Party, retired from the old Red Army (departmental level treatment and enjoyed government subsidies experts of the State Council), former director of the Chinese Artists Association, Sichuan branch vice-chairman, secretary. In 1937 he joined the Chinese revolution. 1940 he was accepted into the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts Department of Art and graduated in 1943. He moved on to become Secretary-General of the United States Association of Former Border Sui "Sui Daily" Chongqing "Xinhua Daily" art editor. Some of his other accomplishments include: Chinese Artists Association, vice chairman of China Printmakers Association, vice-chairman of Sichuan Artists Association, Chairman of Chongqing Artists Association. Chinese Artists Association, Sichuan Branch Secretary, Vice-President, Honorary President of the United States Association of Chongqing. He visited the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Germany, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, Hong Kong. His work "Sunrise" won a Japanese gold medal. Also his work "Sunrise" won the Sixth National Art Exhibition Bronze Award in China. His work, "Chasing Han Xiao Next Month," won the Ninth National Print Exhibition Excellence Award.
