Description: Nippon Era Hand Painted Purple Maroon & Pink Rose Gold Beaded & Green Pitcher Very pretty porcelain pitcher. Nicely decorated with large hand painted purple, dark pink or maroon, and light pink roses white white enamel highlights and gold gilt and white enamel leaves. These are painted over a yellow ivory and light green background, with forest green along the rim, under the spout and to the base. The forest green has gold gilt scrollwork overlay, with beading along the top. There are also brown / tan flower sand small green and blue fruit blossoms. With swags of forest green with beading and gold beading throughout. Has a red and gold, possibly Tokyo mark, but it is very worn and I cannot read it. Probably made during the Nippon era of Japanese porcelain, 1891 to 1921. Has a small discolored crack or crazing line to the base, and some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no additional chips or cracks. Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches wide from spout to handle x 7 3/8 inches tall. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do no affect the display of the piece. EREX
