Nice Wilson USA Big "W" web logo quality A2004 RH baseball/softball glove 1979

Description: Here is a decent vintage 1979 made in USA Wilson A2004 Pro Model shooting star logo baseball glove for a Right-Hand thrower and thus fits on the left hand. The mitt was made in USA and is adult sized measuring 12" long through the pocket. The glove is listed in the 1979 thru 1982 Wilson catalogs and sold for $62.25 and $89.75 at the beginning and end of that period and when the A2000 gloves sold for $86.00 and $125.50, so it was a quality glove listed just below the A2000 gloves. This glove would appear to be a 1979 (or possibly 1980) model as the date code of BT would show it as made in July 1979. So maybe sold in 1979 or made for the 1980 season. The glove can be used for baseball or softball. Stamped on the front of the glove is the Wilson A2004 circle logo, Grip-Tite Pocket, Professional Model, the Pro Model (Shooting Star logo in the web), Wilson and Made in USA. On the back is stamped Nylon Stitched, BT (a date code that seems to be July 1979), which means it was made for the 1982 season), the Made in USA circle logo, Pat. No. 2231204, Canada 398340-1941, Licensed Under U.S. Pat. No. 2722007, a letter C (bottom of pinky), an "S" (just above the Wilson patch) and StrapLock. Glove has a laced open backstrap. It also has a nice gold and black Wilson patch that also has U.S.A. on it. The glove is fully lined, with leather on the underside of the finger stalls and interior of the glove. There is no owner's ink on the glove. The stamping on the front and back is all readable. Glove is broken in but still has open area in pocket (and thus will be shipped in a box). The exterior and interior leather is nice quality and solid. Interior leather is soft and mostly smooth with light chafing along the bottom heel and chafing up where the last 3 fingertips end up. The lacing appears original and intact with light wear here and there. The leather piping is nice with wear mainly were the pinky finger sticks out. The thumb and pinky loops are functional and useable. There is a nice original black and yellow USA Wilson patch sewn on the back of the thumb and the big nylon "W" logo looks nice. I have other gloves and mitts on eBay now as auctions and/or Buy it Now, and I like to combine shipping whenever possible.
