Description: VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE RESCUE® is the manufacturer of this new MADE IN USA high quality reproduction replacement Battery Cover, Honda part number 31532-292-010 (Obsolete). It will also fit many other brands of motorcycles that use a 12N12A-4A1 size and style Yuasa or other battery. This part has not been available from Honda for many years. This new product is vastly superior to any other similar product on the market. Beware of the other vacuum press formed facsimile sometimes being sold on eBay made using only an inferior thin heat press formed plastic sheet .25 thick that is trimmed with a pair of scissors. Our highest quality item is made the same way Honda's original part was, with an injection molding process on an 80 ton press. We used an NOS OEM genuine Honda battery cover as a model to make an exactly shaped aluminum CNC mold duplicate, so it's a very accurate reproduction, and it's made of the same black plastic material that Honda originally used. It measures approximately 3-3/8" width by 6" total length. Ours is made .50 thick and is better than Honda's .35 thickness original part, which tended to buckle and crack when the factory supplied thick and wide rubber battery strap was stretched over it. It's a substantial quality improvement, although the extra thickness is undetectable when the part is on the battery, except it's stiffer and the finish looks much better. This part is show bike quality. The original purpose of this cover was to avoid electrical shorts from the positive terminal to the metal battery cage or seat pan, and acid damage to the metal seat pan when the battery vented. Most owners in the day took this cover off and threw it away because it had to be removed to keep a battery charger clip on the positive terminal. As a practical matter, this part is still needed to save the seat pan and prevent shorts. To do a factory show room correct level restoration, this battery cover MUST be present on all of the above listed compatible bikes.
