These sets are grouped by sequence number; this set belongs together but is one sequence number off. The serials have been incidentally affected. Instruments themselves are new and flawless. This set was still sealed in the original shrink-wrap, but was opened by myself to confirm because its box serials matched another set that was previously sold with the same issue. Instrument serials were examined while still in their plastic sleeves and never touched (instruments in photographs are from another set and provided for reference). The 2015 Writers Edition Leo Tolstoy Pen Set honors the great writer with a luxurious design that is distinctively Montblanc. The instruments feature a hammered-pattern silver-plated barrel and dark-grey precious resin cap, all accented with elegant platinum-plated details, including a traditional Russian woven-pattern band. Blue-marbled resin composes the cone for the fountain pen and rollerball, section for the pencil. The fountain pen's medium nib is 18K gold with a rhodium finish and special engraving. The final touch is the iconic Montblanc white star snowcap finial. Action for the fountain pen is piston with screw-cap; rollerball is screw-cap; pencil is twist-mechanism with fixed-cap.
