NANETTE Arranbee 17" R & B Doll Blue Striped Original Schoolhouse Dress READ

Description: Vintage 1940's Arranbee R & B Original Doll Dress 17-18" Blue and White School Dress : Missing School House Motif The dress is original to Arranbee. I believe it's for Nanette but would work for Nancy Lee or Nancy Jane. I included a picture from my book, Arranbee Dolls by Suzanne L DeMillar and Dennis J Brevik. The picture can be seen on page 97. The one pictured in the book is red in color. I forgot to include the blue version which can be seen on a Nancy Jane on page 121. The one I am selling is the blue version. The biggest issue with the dress is that the School House Motif is MISSING. It appears to have been cut off. The dress is blue and white cotton with a cream organdy apron front. The dress has short puffy sleeves with elastic in the ends. There is a royal blue trim around the neckline. The organdy apron is attached at the waist in the front and back. There is lace trim around the bodice and bottom of the skirt piece. The skirt piece also has a band of the same blue and white cotton material for trim. The back of the dress closes with square snaps. The skirt of the apron piece has a small horizontal line .. not really a run in the fabric but there is a flaw. I don't see any holes or tears in either fabric. It could use a soaking but doesn't have any major stains or dirty spots. The biggest issue is that the school motif was removed. You can see a couple of frayed portions on the cotton material but nothing too bad. It's just where the school house was once attached. The dress does have the original belt sash. It's just a piece of the same blue and white cotton material that wraps around the front and ties in a bow in the back. The dress is untagged. It measures to be around 8" from the top seam to the hem of the skirt. I believe it was made for a 17-18" doll. The waist is 4.5" across (not around) from side to side. The measurement from arm pit to arm pit is 5" across. The skirt from waist to hem is 4.5" long. I have pictured the dress on a 17" Nanette that is currently up for purchase in another of my listings. She is not being sold in this listing and is just modeling. The dress fits her perfectly around the waist and chest. It is above her knees as seen in the photos. It might work for a 14" doll but I don't know this as I don't have one to try the dress on. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
