To prevent battery failure prone to old MTH locomotives, this engine is equipped with a BCR, a battery replacement capacitor that will prevent circuit board failures due to a dead Protosound Battery. This engine runs in forward ONLY. it will not run in reverse. It is not directionally locked, and cannot be changed by resetting the engine using the transformer. I tested the engine, and it works as intended in the forward direction. There is no box with this locomotive, but it will be packed with care.
