Description: MORRO ROCK, Cold Day July in CA 12" x 12" unframed Hanna's work was painted on the beach plein aire. The July day was cold and overcast and Morro Rock was peeking through the fog from time to time. This is not far from the Marina, literally around the corner. If you've been there you know how the weather can be. This day was cold. Coming from the valley where I live (2 hr drive) the temperature was in the 90's and on it's way to 102! However I did not check to see if it was foggy or overcast and oh yes! A delight as I do like it when not to many people are clamoring around etc. The fog moving in and out and over the top not staying in one place! Just a few folks out on the beach which is nice because I really do not interact with people when I'm painting. It is real work and real mental exercise. Any plein aire artist knows that by stopping to talk "it's over".... birds Kaww Kawwing and fishing...hah! Four to five hours later...the work evolves into a moment. This work will take a month to dry but I have to wait to put the top into the fog, as the 'rock' itself would smear if I did it today... so if we're in July when you purchase it....let me be sure to seal it with a Damar varnish....30days from now...(Aug 1) So, I work and paint and get into the space.
