Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I have professionally restored this beautiful original 1970 wood grain steering wheel for the 1970 Mopar B body cars. It is complete with the horn switch, 1970 only horn pad mounting adapter, 1970 only black plastic spacer, horn pad and emblem. This steering wheel, MTB-291, fits the 1970 Dodge Charger, Coronet, Super Bee and the 1970 Plymouth GTX, Road Runner, Superbird and other models. NOTE: If you have a 1970 Mopar B Body car, you need a 1970 wood grain steering wheel, because in 1970 the location of the ignition switch was changed from the instrument panel to the steering column. Therefore, the 1970 steering column is slightly larger O. D. than the 1968 and 1969 columns. And so, if you install a 1968-69 wheel in a 1970 car there would be a visible gap between the steering wheel and the steering column. In order to use the same steering wheels in 1970, Mopar added a black plastic spacer ring to the back of the steering wheel, where it meets the steering column. The ring is retained with fasteners pushed onto pins. The pins fit through holes drilled in the steering wheel spokes near the hub. Also, a larger size horn pad mounting adapter is used with the 1970 wheel in order to fit properly with the spacer ring. The same horn pads, horn switches and horn pad emblems were used in 1968-1970. This steering wheel has been professionally restored by my company, Steeringwheelsbymike. The wood grain rim has been restored and given an appearance that is very near to the original factory finish. Notice the depth and clarity of the wood grain. Note: The wood grain is clearly visible, just like the wheels were when they were new, on the wheels I restore, unlike some others who only apply some wiped stain. I have restored over 1000 wood grain steering wheels and use a process that results in a beautiful, long lasting restoration. Note: The spokes on this wheel are in very nice original condition. I rate them as being 90% perfect. As shown in the picture, the horn pad mounting adapter and the black spacer are the unique parts used only in 1970. NOTE: THE HORN PAD MOUNTING ADAPTER AND SPACER RING ARE NEW REPRODUCTION PARTS. THE PARTS ARE WELL MADE AND FIT PROPERLY.
