For sale is a Lightly Used pen from my personal collection: Montblanc Solitaire 144V Vermeil (Gold over Sterling Silver) Barley Fountain Pen with a 18K Gold Nib (I suspect with a Medium Nib). Lightly Used in Very Good Condition! cosmetically near mint! About the Fountain Pen: This pen is AMAZING! The vermeil (Gold over Sterling Silver) 144V Barley pattern Montblanc fountain pen has been a favorite of mine for decades. Absolutely Authentic! Around the clip of the pen is inscribed: “FD1018109” which is the unique serial number and is stamped “GERMANY”. This pen was produced after 1991 (Montblanc started stamping serial numbers on their pen clips for the classic line to control fake Montblanc pens after 1991). Arguably the most notable pen maker of all time, Montblanc is known for their exceptional build quality and classic design. This particular model fits that mold so well and its slender shape and smooth operation makes it a pleasure to use! Ideal for small to medium sized hands, these are some of the most popular sized Montblanc pens. This pen is made from Sterling Silver and is hallmarked “925” on the pen cap (see picture) and then plated with gold. The pen measures approx. 5 3/8" long (136 mm) and slightly under 6” when posted. The fountain pen is in Very Good to Excellent cosmetic condition (see note below about nib assembly) with only minor surface scratches from use, handling, and storage. The pen comes in a Montblanc box, with its service guide and bottle of Montblanc ink. I don’t know the size of the nib. It is not marked, and I don’t remember but I suspect it is a Medium (M) nib size which was my preferred nib size for a Montblanc fountain pen. The fountain pen accepts international sized ink cartridges (purchased online or from your favorite pen store) but does include an ink converter if you prefer to use an ink well to fill (check out my Montblanc desk ink well on a different eBay listing). There is some pitting on the edge of the nib assembly, I would note that this is fairly common for a fountain pen after a period of use and does not significantly impact the overall beauty of this Montblanc barley fountain pen! Also, the dark shadows on the barley finish of the fountain pen are NOT actually present but due to reflections in my photography light box (mostly from me with my iPhone).
