The little paper seal on each has been broken for examination and display. The one without the imprint is one that is unique-to-me. MUCH scarcer than people realize and highly collectible, "Makeshift Vending Booklets" were largely handmade using available stamps. The following is a note from the Scott U. S. Specialized Catalog: "The booklets listed below were released in 1996 to meet the need for $4.80 and $9.60 vending machine booklets. The booklets consist of blocks of sheet stamps folded and affixed to a standard cover (BC126) with a spot of glue. "The cover varies from issue to issue in the line of text on the front that indicates the number of stamps contained in the booklet and in the four lines of text on the back that describes the contents of the booklet and list the booklet items [internal USPS stock] number. Due to the folding required to make the stamps fit within the covers, the stamp blocks may easily fall apart when booklets are opened. Stamps may also easily detach from [the] booklet cover." A small paper seal "latched the booklet together." To open the booklet and look inside, the paper seal would need to be broken. HIGHLY collectible and very, very scarce.
