Description: This unique set was issued in 1978 to commemorate former Minneapolis Millers and St Paul Saints of the 1930's, 40's and 50's. Willie Mays as a 1951 Minneapolis Miller hit .477 in 38 games before being called up to the New York Giants. Ted Williams, as a 20 year old kid, played for the Minneapolis Millers in 1938 and hit 43 Home Runs before being called up to the Red Sox. Hoyt Wilhelm played for the Minneapolis Millers before graduating to the Majors and later going into the Hall of Fame. Roy Campanella played for the St Paul Saints in 1948, hitting 11 homers in 11 games. After 38 games, he was called up to the Dodgers and the rest is history. Ray Dandridge played 3rd base for the Minneapolis Millers in the 1940's and went on to later being voted into the Hall of fame National Baseball Hall of Fame. Joe Hauser hit 69 Homers while playing with the Millers in 1933. In 1930, he hit 63 homers with the Orioles. This vintage 21 card Millers/ Saints Baseball set is in Near Mint or better condition.
