If you push the latch down you could lock it with your pad lock. And it straightens out the lid. When you open both sides of the toolbox tops The Holding trays open up like they should the top holding trays have a little slide locking mechanism to keep the stuff in when moving the toolbox. As shown in the last photo this toolbox was manufactured with heavy steel braces on the bottom so the toolbox is not set directly on the floor and rust out the bottom From moisture.
