He works primarily in Prismacolor pencil, by layering only blue, magenta, and yellow to build all the colors and tones in an image. He blends and layers short, broad pencil marks to create impressionistic pictures similar to pointillist paintings. Mike’s artwork is in public, institutional, and private collections worldwide, and his work and methods have been described in many books and articles.
