Originally published in London, 1872, and serialized in the U.S. in Harper's Weekly from 1871-1872. This is a the complete American Edition that had originally been published in a 2-column format by Harper & Bros. when the story was first serialized. This is the complete novel in the 2-column format that had been used in the serialization and this complete edition was published in 1873. Harper & Brothers also published a 2-volume, single column edition this same year. I believe this two-column edition that I am selling preceded the appearance of the two-volume edition in the US. Hardcover that shows considerable wear--edge and corner wear, wear to spine ends. Cover hinges are cracked. Clean, unmarked copy. I will call the book Fair to Good.
