Description: Mid Century Carl Erickson Scandinavian Modern Controlled Bubble 1950s Art Glass Click images to enlarge Description I just purchased this vintage Mid Century Modern art glass vase from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece has a striking controlled bubble design which spirals up the 3/16" thick smoky topaz walls. The design is similar to those produced by Carl Erickson (Erickson Glass Works) in the 1950's (I couldn't find this profile in my catalog reprints). I suspect this vase is European / Scandinavian or perhaps even Italian. The piece has a nice presence measuring 11 ½" high, 6" across the fire polished top rim and 4 1/8" at the clear foot. The vase is in excellent condition with no damage, the interior shows nice clarity with no cloudiness / water staining (it appears unused). This handsome controlled bubble design would make a nice addition to your collection of Mid Century art glass or Eames / Modern inspired décor.
