Description: DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH C ACQUIRED FROM A MASSACHUSETTS MUSEUM DEACCESSION FASHIONED OF CUT STEEL BEADING THROUGHOUT WITH STEEL TOPPED TASSELS TRIMMING EACH SIDE AND AN ETCHED STEEL FRAME WITH BALL OPENING. UNLINED IN THE INTERIOR. THE BOTTOM IS TRIMMED IN BEADING IN LATTICE DETAIL WITH LONG SILVER BUGLE BEADS IN THE BOTTOM PATTERN. A DOUBLE CHAIN LOOP AT THE TOP THAT CAN BE CARRIED DOUBLED OVER OR LONGER IN SINGLE FASHION. NO SIGNS AS TO THE MAKER. CONDITION: SMALL TARNISH AND RUSTING IS SEEN TO THE EXTERIOR FRAME. THE INTERIOR FRAME IS DARKENED ON THE EDGE WITH THE BALL CLASP. THERE IS A BREAK IN THE BOTTOM CENTER BEADING. THE BEADING WAS REATTACHED TO THE FRAME AT ONE POINT, EVIDENT WHEN STITCHES ARE STUDIED BUT DOES NOT READILY SHOW.
