Description: This beautiful coat is a vintage 1950s Authentic Shetland Wool Samuel Martin Scotland Limited Martin’s Cord Twist Men’s wool topcoat. The coat shows both exceptional rarity and quality. Wearing it feels like stepping back in time. The Shetland Scottish wool is heavy and comfortably warm. The coat does have a few pin sized holes that you can see in the last photos. I held the coat up to the sun and the white dots are very small pin holes that can be mended. There are not any suitable holes or years in the coat. The coat has been freshly dry cleaned and you can see the tag in the collar in the photos. If you have any questions please ask! This is a gorgeous coat and it deserves to be written by someone who loves it and understands its quality. Excellent condition for its age. Size: No size on the coat because it was probably tailored to the original buyer. The coat is oversized for warmth. Probably a men's large almost extra large. 46 inches long from the back collar to the button of the coat. Sleeves are 31.5 inches along the seam to the collar and about 26 from cuff to shoulder. From arm pit to arm or is 23 inches across with the buttons closed. The tag shown in the photo reads: "Martin’s Cord Twist. On Scotland’s heather highlands and wind swept islands, the proudest flocks of black face sheep graze. Their fine resilient fleece is twisted into smooth cords of unbelievable strength & when woven produce this durable & beautiful fabric from which your Samuel Martin topcoat is fashioned. Samuel Martin (London) Limited. Mirfield, England. This coat was originally sold in Spokane, Washington as shown in the inside pocket lining. The coat has two outside side pockets that are deep and have Scottish plaid lined pockets. The cost has four buttons as shown in the photos. The end of the sleeves have buttoned cuffs with a beautiful lining. Sleeves are lined as well.
